Georgina Gibson is a marine ecosystem modeler with the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She uses computational approaches to explore marine ecosystem dynamics and improve our ability to rapidly detect changes in marine ecosystems, as well as to and predict future change in marine productivity, with the goal of developing tools to aid in sustainable fisheries management. Georgina specializes in lower trophic level, nutirent-phytoplankton-zooplankton (NPZ) food web models. She is working on the Exploring Groundfish Dynamics with Integrated Biophysical Models component of the Gulf of Alaska Project.
